Hokkaido Vol.1 is the first of three volumes documenting a hitchhiking trip in Hokkaido, Japan, in 2010 photographed by @ponytailjones. The photos of the Hokkaido landscapes were carefully composed shot on medium format film. This series shows a quiet and somewhat desolate side of Japan compared to the ultra-modern metropolis that is Tokyo.
Hokkaido Vol.2 is the second of three volumes documenting a hitchhiking trip in Hokkaido, Japan, in 2010 photographed by @ponytailjones. Using a point and shoot camera loaded with slide film, it allowed @ponytailjones to shoot more freely compared to the first issue — this series of photos documented life and more landscapes during the trip.
Hokkaido Vol.3 is the third of three volumes documenting a hitchhiking trip in Hokkaido, Japan, in 2010 photographed by @ponytailjones. The photos shared in this zine were recorded using a digital point and shoot camera, which allowed @ponytailjones to shoot without consequence. The pictures in this issue have a personal impact on @ponytailjones because they show day to day documentation of life on the road, everyday life, and landscapes.
